My Favorite Dress of Nothing

My Favorite Dress of Nothing

Among Elves and Trolls

In 1907 the Swedish artist John Bauer made his first illustration for a short story by Helena Nyblom.
Their collaboration was published in the Christmas annual Among Elves and Trolls. (…) In her exhibition at Sala Bastero in Andoain, Mabi Revuelta exhibits works under the title My Favorite Dress of Nothing. The title alludes to another early 20th century artist, Lewis Carroll, and his preferred dress code for children while photographing them. And even if Carroll’s world of desires and fantasies differed from Bauer’s, they both worked to provoke feelings of nonsense and absurdity in order to comment on reality.
